Share - Care - Love ~ In the Name of Music

Be Yourself....

"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it"

- Bruce Lee

After a show the other night i was asked who my inspiration was when i first started singing. I told them that i started singing at such a young age so i didn't really have just one Inspiration or artist. I said that it was more Music that i was intrigued by! They said "oh you sound very much like Amy-Lee from Evanesence, surprised she wasn't your inspiration"

When i was growing up and first started developing my voice bands like Evanesence wernt around. My voice has its own style and own way, its natural and not forced. However it seems that at most shows i get compared to the likes of other female singers.... especially Amy-Lee. I want to be known by my voice and the power it has behind it rather than "The girl who can sing like Amy-Lee"

This is me, my voice, my unique sound. And i didn't Copy it, Steal it or Tweak it in anyway.

Instead of trying to compare Musicians and Artists to who they sound like - Judge them for their true talent and what they are capable of doing! Here is South Africa we have some amazingly talented Musicians... and i believe they should deserve real respect for their abilities and not just comparisons.
